Senior DevOps Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure & Automation)

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own everything that sits between the code and the end user. From CI/CD pipelines to cloud provisioning, DNS management, SSL, security, monitoring, and cost optimization — if it's infrastructure, it's yours.

You will not be writing application or web code. You will be making sure every app and website Degito builds is deployed correctly, runs reliably, scales efficiently, and stays secure — across multiple client environments on AWS.

This is a high-ownership, high-trust role at the core of Degito's technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure (Primarily AWS)

• Design, provision, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Route 53, VPC)

• Set up and manage domain configuration, DNS records, and SSL/TLS certificates (including wildcard SSL) across client projects

• Implement infrastructure that supports high availability, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery

• Monitor and optimize cloud costs using AWS Budgets, Cost Explorer, and Trusted Advisor

• Provision and configure separate environments per client project (Dev / UAT / Production)

CI/CD & Deployment Automation

• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)

• Streamline deployment processes to reduce errors and accelerate delivery cycles

• Enable safe rollbacks and environment-specific deployments across all client projects

• Coordinate deployment scheduling with developers and PMs to minimize downtime

Security & System Reliability

• Implement and enforce security best practices — IAM policies, network rules, secrets management, firewall configuration

• Manage SSL certificates, HTTPS enforcement, and domain security (DMARC, SPF, DKIM where applicable)

• Set up monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Sentry

• Lead incident response processes and conduct post-mortems with development and QA teams

• Support load testing and failover planning for high-traffic client platforms

Documentation & Internal Standards

• Maintain clear, up-to-date infrastructure documentation for every client environment

• Define and enforce DevOps workflows, naming conventions, and best practices across the team

• Create runbooks for common operational tasks to reduce dependency

• Evaluate and introduce new tools that improve team scalability and delivery reliability

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure

• Strong hands-on AWS experience: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM, VPC

• Solid experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)

• Proficiency with Docker and containerization (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes is a plus)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform or CloudFormation

• Hands-on experience managing DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, and domain configurations

• Strong grasp of security fundamentals — IAM, firewall rules, secrets management, HTTPS

• Able to manage multiple client environments simultaneously without dropping the ball

• Clear communicator — can explain infrastructure decisions to non-technical PMs and clients when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, or Solutions Architect)

• Experience in a digital agency or client-services environment

• Exposure to multi-cloud (GCP or Azure)

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows
