Packaging Purchasing Assistant Manager

Join our dynamic SCM Team at COSMAX (Thailand) as a Packaging Purchasing Assistant Manager, where you'll be responsible for managing the full purchasing cycle of packaging materials. You’ll work closely with both local and overseas suppliers to secure the best deals, ensure on-time delivery, and support production efficiency. 🔧 Key Responsibilities

1. Packaging Purchasing
   • Manage and organize packaging suppliers, both local and overseas.
   • Perform price comparisons and negotiations for cost-saving opportunities.
   • Conduct supplier sourcing and qualification processes.
   • Oversee and control PO release, scheduling, and closing via ERP system.
   • Track packaging purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
   • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Design, Sales, and Planning.
   • Support new product development (NPD) by managing sourcing and purchasing in alignment with project timelines.
   • Train new employees on packaging procurement processes.
   • Monitor weekly procurement progress (PO release, ETA updates, PO closing).

2. Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
   • Develop and maintain the MRP system to ensure availability of raw materials and packaging.
   • Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material demand.
   • Adjust MRP parameters in response to demand shifts or supply chain risks.

3. Inventory Control
   • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and packaging; ensure optimal stock aligned with production plans.
   • Perform purchasing closure in ERP for stock receipt and resolve system error messages.
   • Prepare inventory ledger summaries for analysis and reporting.
   • Manage packaging claims, returns, and monthly defect closing.
   • Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.

4. Supplier Management
   • Establish and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers to ensure long-term collaboration and reliability.
   • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness.
   • Lead supplier development initiatives to improve quality, cost, and service levels.
   • Resolve supplier-related issues in coordination with Quality, Planning, and Production teams.
   • Ensure suppliers meet all compliance requirements, including GMP, ISO, and regulatory standards.

5. SOP and Documentation
   • Maintain and manage master data of packaging materials and suppliers in ERP.
   • Handle operational approvals such as OA for payments and air freight.
   • Ensure compliance of processes with GMP, ISO, and internal SOPs.
   • Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts in procurement workflow and ERP processes.
   • Support ad-hoc assignments as required by SCM leadership.

✅ Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing or Procurement

• Experience in cosmetic manufacturing is an advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and sourcing skills

• Knowledge of packaging materials, ERP systems, and import processes

• Computer literacy and good command of English

• Planning, scheduling, cost analysis, and continuous improvement mindset

• Integrity, teamwork, and effective communication

Preferred:

• Chinese language skills

• Understanding of quality systems such as GMP, ISO
