Factory Manager
Job Summary:
The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the cement/concrete manufacturing plant. This includes production efficiency, quality control, safety compliance, maintenance, cost management, and team leadership to ensure smooth and profitable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
Plan, organize, and oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets.
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and minimal downtime.
Optimize resource utilization including raw materials, manpower, and machinery.
2. Quality Control
Ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Implement and maintain quality assurance systems and procedures.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams to resolve product quality issues.
3. Maintenance & Equipment
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Ensure machinery and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.
Coordinate with engineering teams for upgrades and improvements.
4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.
5. Cost Control & Budgeting
Manage plant budget and control operational costs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per ton, downtime, and output.
6. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff and supervisors.
Manage workforce planning, performance evaluations, and training.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
7. Supply Chain & Inventory
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for raw material availability.
Manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
8. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
Maintain accurate documentation of plant activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in cement or concrete manufacturing.
At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
