Assistant Manager (Legal & Compliance)
Responsibility:
Legal advisory leadership: Provide risk-based legal and PDPA advice to management and internal stakeholders, presenting practical options and recommendations suitable for decision-making.
Non-standard/high-risk contracting lead: Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of non-standard or higher-risk English agreements, including defining negotiation strategy and fallback positions across key risk areas.
Contract risk governance: Establish and operate contract risk controls to ensure consistent governance and defensible outcomes.
PDPA governance and decision oversight: Own and maintain Club’s PDPA governance framework and standards approve justified exceptions, direct the substantive handling of complex Data Subject Request and personal data incidents and review/sign-off the annual RoPA output with a prioritized remediation roadmap.
External counsel and dispute management: Manage external counsel engagements for specialist matters and disputes/litigation including tracking costs, timelines, and approval/escalation requirements.
Government authority engagement (substantive): Oversee and approve substantive communications to government authorities and determine escalation to management where warranted.
Board-ready outputs and functional leadership: Prepare decision-ready briefs/board papers on legal/PDPA matters as assigned and provide functional directions to subordinates to ensure prioritization, quality consistency, and a controlled operational backlog.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in laws.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in this role.
Strong skills with Legal advisory and Risk assessment.
Fluently written and spoken English.
