Assistant Manager/Manager, Supplier Quality Engineer (Fine Blanking Expert)
Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
Lead supplier quality activities across assigned commodity groups.
Develop and execute supplier quality strategies aligned with business objectives.
Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs and scorecards.
Drive supplier continuous improvement programs to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Manage supplier escalation processes and corrective action programs.
Fine Blanking Process Expertise
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fine Blanking manufacturing processes.
Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, equipment, tooling design, and process controls.
Provide technical guidance for Fine Blanking process optimization and defect reduction.
Review and approve Fine Blanking process validation plans.
Support design reviews to ensure manufacturability and quality requirements are met.
Assess process capability (Cp, Cpk, Ppk) and recommend improvement actions.
APQP & PPAP Management
Lead supplier APQP activities for new product launches.
Review and approve PPAP submissions according to customer requirements.
Ensure suppliers comply with AIAG Core Tools:
Support product and process validation activities.
Supplier Audits & Development
Conduct supplier process audits based on:
IATF 16949
VDA 6.3
Customer Specific Requirements
Lead supplier development projects to improve manufacturing robustness.
Identify supplier risks and implement mitigation plans.
Drive sustainable supplier quality improvements.
Leadership
Lead and develop Supplier Quality Engineers.
Establish departmental objectives and performance metrics.
Coach team members on automotive quality tools and Fine Blanking technologies.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Related Engineering Discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in Automotive Quality or Supplier Quality.
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
Strong experience managing metal stamping and Fine Blanking suppliers.
Experience with automotive Tier-1 or OEM environment.
