Work you will do

• AI/ML Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Design and own the reference architecture for AI/ML systems, covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, model serving, and monitoring layers

  • Define architectural standards, design patterns, and reusable components (feature stores, model registries, experimentation frameworks)

  • Evaluate and select the AI/ML technology stack — build vs. buy decisions, cloud vs. on-prem tradeoffs, open-source vs. vendor platforms — and maintain a technology roadmap

  • Act as the primary technical authority on AI architecture decisions across teams, ensuring consistency and avoiding fragmented, duplicative infrastructure

• Recommendation, Personalization & Applied AI Systems

  • Guide the architecture underpinning recommendation and personalization systems (collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, hybrid, deep learning, and reinforcement learning approaches), working with the data science and ML engineering teams that implement them

  • Architect solutions for cross-cutting AI challenges such as cold-start handling, long-tail content promotion, and diversity/fairness in ranking systems

  • Extend the architectural framework to support personalization beyond content — app layout, feature recommendations, notifications

  • Ensure architectural consistency and interoperability so personalization and AI capabilities can be reused seamlessly

• Scalability, MLOps & Platform Engineering

  • Architect systems for large-scale data processing and real-time inference, with clear SLAs on latency, throughput, and resource utilization

  • Design and oversee MLOps practices — CI/CD for ML, automated retraining pipelines, model versioning, A/B testing infrastructure, and observability/monitoring for model performance and drift

  • Define data pipeline and model-serving infrastructure standards that scale reliably as the number of AI use cases and platforms grows

  • Establish governance frameworks for model risk, data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices across all AI systems

• Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement

  • Serve as a technical advisor and architectural reviewer for data science and ML engineering teams building recommendation, personalization, and other AI products

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and infrastructure leadership to align AI architecture with overall platform strategy and business roadmap

  • Mentor engineering and data science teams on architectural best practices, elevating the technical maturity of AI development org-wide

  • Translate complex architectural tradeoffs into business impact and risk narratives for executive stakeholders

Let us Talk About You
If you are someone with:

• 6+ years of experience in software/ML engineering, with significant experience in an AI/ML architecture, platform, or technical leadership capacity

• Proven track record designing and scaling end-to-end AI/ML system architectures (data pipelines, feature stores, model training/serving infrastructure, MLOps tooling) in production environments

• Deep expertise in machine learning system design, including familiarity with recommendation systems, deep learning, and reinforcement learning approaches

• Strong hands-on knowledge of large-scale distributed data processing technologies and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, Spark, cloud ML platforms)

• Experience architecting real-time, low-latency inference systems at scale

• Solid understanding of data governance, model risk management, security, and responsible/ethical AI practices
