Job Title : Retail Category Manager / Trade Marketing Manager
Category:  Personal Care (Protex, Care, Palmolive) / Oral Care (Colgate)
Report to : Retail Category Marketing Manager
Location: Klongtoey, Bangkok, Thailand

Job Summary

As Retail Category Manager, you'll build and share compelling stories with Customers that provide insight to how shopper behaviors are influencing our categories. You will serve as the category specialist by delivering insight-based engaging category presentations and highlighting opportunities. You will establish a proven customer relationship based on building thought leadership. As the specialist, you’ll scorecard and supervise the execution of 5Ps (including product assortment, pricing, promotion, placement and POP), to ensure success in all that you do. Utilizing category analysis, shopper insights and other available analytic tools you will apply your expertise to drive solutions for Colgate and our customers.

Be responsible for :
  • Growth ideas for responsible categories by channel
  • Guideline for Assortment & Placement & POP & communication in-store
  • Go-to-Market plan
Responsibilities:
  • Apply shopper and customer insights to develop Retail environment/Channel strategy on 5P (including product assortment, pricing, promotion, placement and POP)
  • Develop shopper programs and campaign to drive sales and market share growth across all categories for category/brand in each channel.
  • Implement analysis required for category review, by channel
  • Drive distribution expansion program and drive diligent execution of mandated product assortment strategy – by channel.
  • Develop Placement Strategy – merchandising guideline & planograms, by channel & by customer.
  • Develop effective pricing and promotion offers to drive shopper off take
  • Adapt communication materials for all touch points.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional team to ensure in-store execution excellence
  • Develop budget guideline – covering brand activity, joint-business-planning/shopper programs. (Allocate in-store investment & media vehicles across customers)
  • Go-to-Market plan - based on input from marketing, develop ‘category/channel-oriented’ go-to-market process & selling story. Be a storyteller to interpret and communicate shopper & consumer data and optimally integrate them to tell fact-based stories to drive category solutions is essential, so we can thrive and win. Also supervising performance of new product launch during the first 3 months.
  • Be a part of joint-business-planning process, attending the meeting with customer, present Category & Brand growth plan and actively participate in discussion.
  • Work with Customer Development (sales team) and Marketing team to accelerate Colgate in retailers penetration and sales
  • Anticipate, predict, develop tactic to proactively responding to competitive moves
Job Requirement
  • 3-4 years working experience, preferably gained from FMCG industry and experience in Modern Trade
  • Degree holder in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, with good business sense
  • Strong execution and flexibility
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English

Job Title : Category Investment Manager  (Trade Marketing)

Job Summary: This position is similar to Trade MKT but focus on Net Revenue Management / Investment / Pricing & Promotion analysis & strategies in terms of Brand Portfolio, Packprice, Mix management and Promotion management to accelerate sales and profit growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. PROMOTION BUDGET MANAGEMENT (Strategic alignment)

● Lead RGM strategy into action ○ Identify & align Strategic direction with "Priority cells" with cross functions (RM/CDT)

○ Allocate Promotion spending by Sub category by Channel accordingly

○ Set the measurement/ align KPIs for Priority cells

● Manage the Investment strategy on Price & Promotion

○ Monthly analyze external forces and implication;

○ Market/ Category/ Channel/ Competitor (size/ growth/ trend) 

○ Deliver P&P scorecard and recommended action on Promotion spending

○ Volume on promo/ SPI/ ROI/ Market share"

○ Make the suggestion on where to invest (subcategory & channel)

○ Make the suggestion on appropriate type of investment (Promo vs A&P)

2. PROMOTION GUIDELINE (Strategic into action)

● ROI by channel/ category

○ Pre and Post evaluation of themes promotion

○ Reduce no. of small/ non performed promotion

○ Suggestion on promotion optimization using Red/Yellow/Green boxes (stop,reinvest,accelerate)

● Promotion Guideline ○ Develop guideline/ recommend the mechanic for theme promotion

○ Develop guideline/ TPR rate for price promotion

○ Develop the recommended combo (PnP study)

○ Develop the ""Golden rule"" as part of guideline

○ Bandwidth/ hybrid pack/ overlay regulation"

● Theme promotion ○ Evaluate category theme (impact to category)

○ Suggest step promotion / mechanic

3. RSP SETTING

● Price Structure for NPD

○ RSP setting for NPDs/ Price structure

○ Develop the RSP setting process/ template/ tools (RSP/Price per g)

○ Post evaluation on RSP (3 mths)

●  RSP Adjustments

○ Market review by sub category/channel

○ Update price structure TM% by channel, shelf price tracking

4. TRACKING

● Monthly Tracking KPIs;

○ Partner insight/CDT to deliver automated monthly tracking

○ Promotion Intensity index/ SPI/Mkt share

○ Partner with FN/RGM to deliver automated performance tracking;

○ NS/ Promo spending/ASP

● Pricing analytic

○ Provide business requirement for price analytic tool

○ Coordinate the data integration "Sale-in & Off-take"

○ Turn the insight from Price analytic into Promo guideline

○ Suggest "Cannibalization" impact

5. ENABLER & TOOLS

● Pricing analytic

○ Provide business requirement for price analytic tool

○ Coordinate the data integration "Sale-in & Off-take"

○ Turn the insight from Price analytic into Promo guideline

● Visualization tool (Explore Power BI, Tableau)

6. CAPABILITY BUILDING

● Strengthen Pricing capability

○ Be expert on P&P

○ Lead regular learning & sharing forum (cross function)

Qualification:

● Master or Bachelor Degree in business or related field. 

● Brand Marketing Management , and/or Trade Marketing / Shopper Development experience in FMCG sector Generic Competencies

● Essential: Communication , Influence/Negotiation, Consumer/Customer focused, Teamwork & Collaboration and Strong English proficiency

● Desirable: Fostering Experimentation, Driving Innovation, Developing & Coaching people Functional Competencies

● Essential: Consumer & Shopper Insight, Category Management, Trade Understanding.

● Desirable: Business & Financial Analysis
