Overall Purpose of the job:

East West Seed is seeking a person with a multi-disciplined skillset to support the development and administration of genomic databases and front-end web applications. You will develop and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases storing genomic data for a wide range of organisms, and develop web applications that interface with these databases using SQL, PHP, Python, CSS and HTML5 technologies.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn about and develop distributed computing technologies including Spark, Dask and Machine Learning/Deep Learning, as well as compute cluster management with Docker and Kubernetes. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Web-based front-end development with Python and Apache/PHP
• Administration of Linux servers

QUALIFICATION:

• At least Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Experience with LAMP stack: Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, PHP, SQL and Python
• Experience database administration with PostgreSQL
• Experience with REST APIs
• Knowledge of machine learning or deep learning a plus
• Knowledge of distributed computing technologies (Spark, Dask, Kubernetes) desirable but not required
• Proficient in the English language
• Work located in Chiang Mai
