Senior Transport Vendor Manager

Work Location: G Tower Rama 9, Bangkok

Travel Required: Visiting sites / DCs and vendors depending on the business requirement with no fixed schedule. We are looking for a candidate who is flexible to travel to the outer areas of Bangkok.

Reports to: Transport Director/Senior Director and dotted line to Sub Regional Head of Porcurement

Overall Responsibilities:

  • To source, manage, develop, select, control, and plan the tasks and activities of subcontractors of Thailand Domestic Transport with the objective to achieve both customers and DHL agreed KPIs.

i. Safety

  • Support the accidents investigation process with Safety team
  • Ensure that all unsafe acts are communicated to all related parties timely
  • Ensure the site safety and access rules are followed
  • Ensure all subcontractors comply with DHL OSCPs requirements

ii. Sourcing, Purchasing, Compliance and Subcontractor Management

  • Sourcing and Purchasing
  • Source, select and implement quality and cost effective for transportation to DHL’s group.
  • Create and review various options of requiring transport volume (purchase, driver-owner, quota, lease, other)
  • Create and expand a suppliers database for ambient and temp controlled
  • To achieve saving results by renegotiation rates with subcontractors through various methods (such as providing min revenue stream, spreading over accounts, etc.)
  • Compliance and Subcontractor Management
  • Create and implement a suppliers & subcontractors performance review process with KPI’s and reporting
  • Develop and implement the best practice standard working procedures
  • Maintain good relationship with suppliers and internal customers and solve day-to-day problems
  • Provide subcontractors’ performance feedback to all related stakeholders

iii. Team Management

  • Lead and manage team within Transport Vendor department
  • Determine team structure, roles, performance targets, goals
  • Assign the project owner and ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner
  • Coach and mentor of subordinates in order to help improving working skills
  • Develop team spirit and multitasking capabilities within the team
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
  • Ensure the team comply with DHL rules & regulations
  • Review the Weekly team performance against the KPI tree
  • Update and review Monthly team performance report to Head of Procurement
  • Lead the Weekly team meeting
  • Lead the Monthly Procurement/Transport team meeting
  • Performance dialogues with team members on a monthly basis
  • Support the EOS active leadership for team members

iv. Continuous Improvements

  • Identify and follow up on opportunities to improve the Cost leadership
  • Communicate to all stakeholders by using the BPSS - Business Partner Satisfaction Survey
  • Maintain long-term relationship with suppliers and internal customers
  • Evaluate and improve the safety standard of subcontractors
  • Enhance the team performance improvement


  • At least 8 years of working experience in Logistics industry or related field
  • Experienced in Transport Vendor Management, Transport Sourcing required
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skill
  • Good English communication
  • Solid understanding of transportation carrier contracts, all modes, transit time, and networks
  • Understanding of mode rate structures (FTL, LTL, Haulage and Cross-border)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
