Job Summary:
Responsible for the designing customized titanium prostheses, titanium bone-plates and surgical guides using computer-aided design
and 3D data processing. The position will also create/test prototype and improve existing product for increased performance and functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Work with medical doctors to obtain requirements, provide design consultation, perform design process and ensure design approval based on specifications
- Using
data processing and computer-aided design software to design customized prosthesis and its corresponding fixation to ensure excellent fitment/biomechanics to each patient’s anatomy
- Manage overall design process of
products and keep track of all designing processes
- Perform design analysis and product evaluation based on customer feedbacks and clinical data
- Improve product and design workflow for increased performance and functionality
- Using design for additive manufacturing method and related engineering concepts, to optimize and improve the functional performance of all existing products
- Plan effectively to ensure products are delivered on time
- Maintain and follow company’s procedures and standards
- Report and escalate technology manager as needed
Requirements
- Proficient in computer-aided design software, e.g. ANSYS / Solidworks / Rhinoceros
- Experienced in medical imaging processing and additive manufacturing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time
- BEng in mechanical/biomechanical engineering or relevant field
