On April 14, 1981, in Honolulu, Hawaii, William “Bill” Melton incorporated his new tech company. The original intention was to provide a recourse for retailers who’d been swindled by people handing out bad checks. Bill's product was a kind of verification device using phone lines—a verification phone.

But then a pivot. The credit card industry was relatively new at the time and processing was still being done with carbon paper. Bill saw a way to reduce costs for companies like Visa and MasterCard, while capitalizing on this new technology. Instead of verifying checks, we would provide local businesses a means to electronically process credit card payments. And thus, the Verifone payment device was born.

Job Summary – Head of Delivery, Thailand:

As Head of Delivery for Thailand, you are responsible for the end to end delivery of Client based Applications to production inclusive of Development Activities, Quality Assurance, Requirements definition and Project Management.

You will proactively manage, lead and promote a team of technical developers, testers and business analysts. Ensure that there is a defined and accurate SLDC and level of governance that is understood and that the delivery team adhere to as part of overall delivery.

  • You are responsible for communication and transparency of key initiatives and contractual requirements to Internal and external teams.
  • Lead customer engagement, in conjunction with Sales and Pre-Sales to ensure that client requirements are well understood, defined and captured
  • Leading estimation of new tasks
  • Resource management and allocation to support customer delivery requirements and priorities
  • Process Management and improvement to deliver quality outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Provide Management oversight to activities and resourcing requirements
  • Team education and performance management
  • Problem and Issue resolution relating to programing within the team


Overall, your role this is a critical role.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the development system and the ability to deliver accurately is maintained through a well-defined and understood SDLC with appropriate levels (and continual improvement) of governance, policy, standards, process and risk management
  • Drive the strategic direction and plan to meet those needs.
  • Lead and promote best practice system & code design solutions that leverage people, financial and information resources
  • Ensure the workload is managed and prioritized. Ensure resource allocation and requirement is fully understood, managed and maintained
  • Establish and maintain an effective 4th line production support capability
  • Provide advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within technology and the business
  • Work with technology and the business to ensure the product and technical roadmaps are defined and understood
  • Create individual development plans and arrange and coordinate training where needed.
  • Deal with poor performance quickly and accurately
  • Promote and recognize out-performance
  • Drive the achievement of agreed financial targets and manage operational costs to achieve agreed targets
  • Represent and continually identify best practice for leveraging tools, resource and approaches to development solutions to align with changing company needs
  • Develop rapid understanding of Software Application s and Architecture of Verifone Solutions
  • Lead engagement with clients, in conjunction with Sales and Pre-sales to ensure detailed capture of requirements and utilise to support work prioritisation and resource allocation.

Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

•Extensive experience in managing and leading people
•Experience in the Payments/POS/EDC industry is preferred
•Strong knowledge of C Language (C/C++) – note that this must be recent and demonstrable.
•Strong knowledge of Client Service applications
•Strong knowledge of System Design, Cryptography
•Knowledge with EMV/PCI and security/scheme certification is preferable
•Experience in using source code version control.
•Experience with Object Oriented Software development and use of debug tools.
•Experienced in both Waterfall SDLC or AGILE Software Delivery
•Experience and knowledge in agile/scrum methodology, project methodologies,
•Experience in managing multiple, parallel projects
•Experience in using Project Management tools – e.g. Microsoft Projects
