Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting services

  • Review and supervise all client related accounting output produced by the teams including: Provide technical accounting update training teams’ staff on both an ad hoc and scheduled timetable. Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for all reporting clients

  • Review and assist in the preparation of statutory and non-statutory accounts for year-end for all clients
  • Signatory for 2nd approval for client banking & cheques  (post probation)
  • Liaise with clients & auditors

Taxation compliance services:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all tax compliance matters with the support of the teams, including: Providing final sign-off of all tax reporting prior to Public Officer or Tax Agent signature.
  • Tax registrations for new clients
  • Corporate and individual  tax returns
  • Deferred tax calculations

Client On-boarding and Management:

  • Along with the team Managers’ take the lead and sign-off on new client on-boarding process including; preparation of on-boarding plan, analysis and planning of operational needs, resources, implementation plan and client/TMF Group relationship protocols which achieve agreed client service levels.
  • Establish and update procedures in relation to tax and accounting compliance services provided to clients, including ensure appropriate documentation on each clients’ specific requirements.
  • Ensure client work is completed within budgeted time and report out of scope client work undertaken.
  • Ensure clients are billed for payroll services on a regular basis including any out of scope work.
  • Handle client complaints and dispute resolution and escalate to the DCS where necessary.
  • Ensure TMF Group internal compliance procedures are adhered to for all new clients.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise day-to-day work of staff under the care of teams’ Managers and activities including; workload balance, client assignment and other activities as required.
  • Conduct periodic staff performance appraisals to; evaluate performance, Identify; skill gaps and training requirements, career development plans, skill gaps and training requirements.
  • With the DCS and HR Manager conduct performance management of staff including but not limited to; informal and formal warnings, investigations and disciplinary actions.

Performance Management:

  • To prepare and participate in regular performance reviews.
  • To prepare a personal development plan for one of the reviews to improve current job performance and prepare for your future.
  • Take responsibility for career and apply appropriate development initiatives. Support will be given through coaching, internal and external training and further education where deemed relevant to the role.

Business Development:

  • Promote TMF Group’s services and pass on business opportunities to the Business Development Team.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships and liaison with clients.
  • Assist Business Development Director and / or Manager with completion of new business proposals.
  • Address client's requirements and suggests new proposals for improving service.

Administration:

  • Maintaining databases and other tracking tools as required.
  • Liaising with TMF Group office network as required in delivery of services.
  • Ensure client billing and all WIP management procedures are followed by the Malaysia Accounting & Tax teams. 
  • Ensure that all ‘Know your Client‘ (“KYC”) procedures for clients are completed
