You’ll be an invaluable member of our Engineering Team, widely considered the backbone of Pomelo and composed of top specialists from across four different continents. Using the latest technologies and trends, you will assist in conceptualizing, planning, and creating ground-breaking new features that will enhance our user’s online experience. You’ll not only be responsible for carrying out individual projects but help contribute your expert ideas and opinions to help shape the actual output.
Responsibilities
- Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop the team
- Partner with product managers to ensure sprints are planned appropriately and delivered on time
- Provide both technical and non-technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment
- Implement effective engineering processes and procedures, standards, best practices and policies for the team
- Create and present team reports and analysis to management in a meaningful way
- Contribute to engineering and development tasks as needed
- Foster a culture based on creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, quality, and inclusion
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience building and leading engineering teams
- 10+ years of experience as a software developer/manager
- Direct experience managing remote teams
- Deep understanding of Javascript
- Knowledge working with AWS Services
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Working experience with git, branching, git-flow, and deployment strategies
- Strong communication skills and not afraid to ask questions
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
