BCPG Public Company Limited (BCPG) was established on 17 July 2015 with a registered capital of 10 Billion Baht to operate clean and environmentally-friendly renewable power businesses, with Bangchak Corporation (previously known as Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited) (BCP) holding the total shares. BCPG business started with the transfer of solar power plant assets in five provinces in Thailand with a total installed capacity of 170 megawatts from BCP as a result of the restructuring of BCP’s renewable energy business group.
In 2016, BCPG invested in solar power business in Japan and the company was also awarded with the rights to develop solar power plant under to the Solar Power Plants for Governmental Agency and Agricultural Cooperatives Program in Thailand.
After being listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, BCPG made an initial public offering of newly issued shares on 28 September 2016. Primarily, the fund mobilization will finance business expansion, support sustainable growth in the international market, and establish the Company’s leading position in renewable energy businesses in the region.
2017 sees BCPG pursuing business expansion actively with investments in wind power business in the Philippines and geothermal power business in Indonesia. As of July 2017, BCPG has secured 585 MW from renewable power plants in four countries in Asia Pacific and is continuously growing.
