Tier-1 application support

Role Purpose: One or two sentences summarizing why the role exists, the unique contribution it makes to the organization.
  • Tier-1 application support provides help desk assistance, system administration, and coordinating with Tier-2 and regional application support for all types of issues affecting end users, such as software problems, network breakdowns, and hardware failures.
Key Accountabilities
▪ Perform below tasks
  • Responding to queries via MS Teams chat, email, phone, or other agreed communication channels within the agreed SLA
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing incidents
  • Resolving the common incidents following the guidelines
  • Escalating the issues to Tier-2, regional application support, or 3rd party vendors and coordinating between users and technical team
  • Following up with users to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Monitoring and following up with users to ensure the status of issue tickets (JIRA) is updated by the appropriate parties
  • Creating the detail incident report and monthly incidents summary reports
  • Verifying systems to ensure systems are working correctly after the regular maintenance activities
▪ Follow the security guidelines and working procedures

Minimum requirements: (Qualifications and Experience) 
  • Bachelor/Master degree in computer related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in application helpdesk support
  • Experienced in multiple issue tracking tools (JIRA)
  • Having programming background and preliminary middleware knowledge i.e. jBoss 
  • Ability to work in shift and on holidays
  • Ability to Troubleshoot and Diagnose Problems
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively to help users fix their issues and feel satisfied with the experience, Writing and Editing Skills to create incident reports
  • Ability to do system operation following the troubleshooting guideline
  • Being flexible and open to regular changes
  • Desire to continue learning and improving
Key Attributes
  • Proficient in communication both Thai/ English
  • Understanding software fundamental
  • Basic knowledge of life insurance is an advantage

Tier-2 Application support 

Role Purpose: One or two sentences summarizing why the role exists, the unique contribution it makes to the organization.
  • Tier-2 application support provides technical assistance for incidents affecting end users such as software problems, network breakdowns, and hardware failures, and coordinating with Tier-1 and regional technical support to resolve the issues
Key Accountabilities  
▪ Perform below tasks
  • Responding to Tier-1 via MS Teams chat, email, phone, or other agreed communication channels within the agreed SLA
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing incidents
  • Providing technical assistance to the incidents
  • Resolving the incidents on agreed scope following the guidelines
  • Escalating the issues to regional technical support or 3 rd party vendors and coordinating between Tier-1 and regional team
  • Confirming with Tier-1 support to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Providing findings and identifying root causes and resolution to Tier-1 support for record
  • Verifying systems to ensure systems are working correctly after the regular maintenance activities
▪ Suggest the interim and permanent resolution to relevant teams in order to improve systems
▪ Respond to system alerts from infrastructure team
▪ Create and update the troubleshooting guidelines
▪ Follow the security guidelines and working procedures

Minimum requirements: (Qualifications and Experience)
  • Bachelor/Master degree in computer sciences, software engineering or equivalent, or be a recognized expert in the field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in computer programming
  • Ability to work in shift and on holidays
  • Proven working experience in Java development using Java EE platforms
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, RESTful, and insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
  • Experienced in integration technologies i.e. message queue (Kafka, Solace, etc), single sign-on integration (RHSSO, ADF, etc)
  • Experienced in environment set up (Cloud/ VM), server configuration, CI/CD for the deployment and implementation
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing technologies, frameworks, language, methodologies etc.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot and Diagnose Problems
  • Ability to Communicate Effectively to help users fix their issues and feel satisfied with the experience, Writing and Editing Skills to aid in writing and updating troubleshooting guidelines
  • Being flexible and open to regular changes
  • Desire to continue learning and improving
Key Attributes
  • Proficient understanding of Java libraries and frameworks
  • Experience with both external and embedded databases
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application and web application security
  • Basic understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java, JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
  • Good knowledge of issue tracking (JIRA), Source Code Management (Git), Build tools (Gulp, Webpack), Continuous Integration systems (Bamboo, Jenkins), Package management (npm, Bower, yarn) and testing framework(Mocha, Jasmine, Jest)
  • Familiar with database management (PostgreSQL, Oracle, NoSQL, SQLite, SQL Server, DB2 or MySQL) is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of life insurance is an advantage
