The company plans to expand business internationally and is looking for actuary professionals from Managers through to AVP’s.

Job Summary

The successful candidate is required to work on product pricing strategies, coordinating with other concerned parties, and recommend the product features and price correlation, as well as evaluating the product's trend in the market in order to be more competitive. The candidate would also be responsible for product modelling and overseeing reinsurance functions. Therefore, the candidate is required to have knowledge of actuary pricing, specifically in technical terms, so as to coach staff in the team and increase productivity.

Job responsibilities

• Recommend product features, pricing, and underwriting strategies by identifying problems; evaluating trends; conducting impact studies; making technical projections; and anticipating requirements from marketing and underwriting
• Interface and create good relationships with underwriting, marketing, and claims; where needed, provide value-adding analytics
• Coordinate reinsurance arrangements and treaties, providing advice on suitable and competitive reinsurance arrangements 
• Oversee product implementation responsibilities of the actuarial team, including user-testing of system changes and sales illustrations
• Monitor product performance in accordance with risk measures adopted at the corporate level for a post–product implementation review
• Assist in improving the actuarial pricing model
• Provide advice, support and mentoring to more junior staff, ensuring they develop both in terms of actuarial knowledge and practical experience
• Build up the team on technical and actuarial skill on Excel and Prophet pricing and modelling, improving accuracy and ensuring appropriate sets of assumptions are used and justified
• Oversee analyst reinsurance performance, and improve reinsurance strategy and reinsurance treaty management by identifying reinsurance requirements; designing reinsurance structure; reviewing and strengthening treaty clauses and terms & conditions; and negotiating of the treaty with the reinsurer to align with the reinsurance management framework and corporate strategy
• Monitor and review the reinsurance operation and improve the process by utilizing automated programs
• Carry out ad-hoc projects as required

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Multiple years of direct experience in Actuarial Pricing in the Life Insurance Industry
• Capabilities in using and writing computer language programs
• Experiencing in Actuarial Software is preferable
• Must have a Fellow Certification e.g. ASA, FSA or any others
