Job Description

Job Title : Retail Category Manager / Trade Marketing Manager
Category:  Personal Care (Protex, Care, Palmolive) / Oral Care (Colgate)
Report to : Retail Category Marketing Manager
Location: Klongtoey, Bangkok, Thailand


Job Purpose

  • Own Category growth by channel, also category/brand communication with shoppers.
  • Be responsible for :

o Growth ideas for responsible categories by channel
o Guideline for Assortment & Placement & POP / communication in-store
o Go-to-Market plan

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop & implement activity ideas to drive growth for category/brand in each channel.
  • Implement analysis required for category review , by channel
  • Develop Assortment Strategy – by channel.
  • Develop Placement Strategy – merchandising guideline & planogram, by channel & by customer.
  • Adapt communication materials for all touch points.
  • Develop budget guideline – covering brand activity, joint-business-planning/shopper programs. (Allocate in-store investment & media vehicles across customers )
  • Go-to-Market plan - based on input from marketing, develop ‘category/channel-oriented’ go-to-market process & selling story. Also tracking performance of new product launch during the first 3 months.
  • Be a part of joint-business-planning process
  • Internal – customize category/brand insight from Mktg to be ‘by channel’, with adding on growth activity idea.
  • External - attend the meeting with customer, present Category & Brand growth plan and actively participate in discussion.

Qualification:

Education

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in business or related field.

Experience

  • Brand Marketing Management , and/or Trade Marketing / Shopper Development experience in FMCG sector

Generic Competencies

  • Essential: Communication , Influence/Negotiation, Consumer/Customer focused, Teamwork & Collaboration and Strong English proficiency

Job Title : Category Investment Manager  (Trade Marketing)

Report to : Retail Marketing Team Leader

Location:  Klongtoey, Bangkok, Thailand

Job Summary: This position is similar to Trade MKT but focus on Net Revenue Management / Investment / Pricing & Promotion analysis & strategies in terms of Brand Portfolio, Packprice, Mix management and Promotion management to accelerate sales and profit growth.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. PROMOTION BUDGET MANAGEMENT (Strategic alignment)

● Lead RGM strategy into action ○ Identify & align Strategic direction with "Priority cells" with cross functions (RM/CDT)

○ Allocate Promotion spending by Sub category by Channel accordingly

○ Set the measurement/ align KPIs for Priority cells

● Manage the Investment strategy on Price & Promotion

○ Monthly analyze external forces and implication;

○ Market/ Category/ Channel/ Competitor (size/ growth/ trend) 

○ Deliver P&P scorecard and recommended action on Promotion spending

○ Volume on promo/ SPI/ ROI/ Market share"

○ Make the suggestion on where to invest (subcategory & channel)

○ Make the suggestion on appropriate type of investment (Promo vs A&P)

2. PROMOTION GUIDELINE (Strategic into action)

● ROI by channel/ category

○ Pre and Post evaluation of themes promotion

○ Reduce no. of small/ non performed promotion

○ Suggestion on promotion optimization using Red/Yellow/Green boxes (stop,reinvest,accelerate)

● Promotion Guideline ○ Develop guideline/ recommend the mechanic for theme promotion

○ Develop guideline/ TPR rate for price promotion

○ Develop the recommended combo (PnP study)

○ Develop the ""Golden rule"" as part of guideline

○ Bandwidth/ hybrid pack/ overlay regulation"

● Theme promotion ○ Evaluate category theme (impact to category)

○ Suggest step promotion / mechanic

3. RSP SETTING

● Price Structure for NPD

○ RSP setting for NPDs/ Price structure

○ Develop the RSP setting process/ template/ tools (RSP/Price per g)

○ Post evaluation on RSP (3 mths)

●  RSP Adjustments

○ Market review by sub category/channel

○ Update price structure TM% by channel, shelf price tracking

4. TRACKING

● Monthly Tracking KPIs;

○ Partner insight/CDT to deliver automated monthly tracking

○ Promotion Intensity index/ SPI/Mkt share

○ Partner with FN/RGM to deliver automated performance tracking;

○ NS/ Promo spending/ASP

● Pricing analytic

○ Provide business requirement for price analytic tool

○ Coordinate the data integration "Sale-in & Off-take"

○ Turn the insight from Price analytic into Promo guideline

○ Suggest "Cannibalization" impact

5. ENABLER & TOOLS

● Pricing analytic

○ Provide business requirement for price analytic tool

○ Coordinate the data integration "Sale-in & Off-take"

○ Turn the insight from Price analytic into Promo guideline

○ Suggest "Cannibalization" impact

● Visualization tool (Explore Power BI, Tableau)

○ Indicative daily tracking

○ Promotion slot management

○ Promotion Performance update

● Standardize P&P template

○ Promotion guideline template

○ Promotion planning template

○ SPI tracking template

○ Shelf price tracking template

○ ROI calculation template

○ RGM tracking

6. CAPABILITY BUILDING

● Strengthen Pricing capability

○ Be expert on P&P

○ Lead regular learning & sharing forum (cross function)

○ End-to-end process improvement
