Tooling & Facility Manager - KD

Responsibilities

Knowledge:

• Overall knowledge of Automotive Assembly process,End of Line Processes & systems
• Knowhow of tools, jigs fixture, machines required for automotive assembly operation
• Technical knowledge of tool manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Layout planning, Assembly shop setups & related facility planning
• Knowledge of general utility like Electricity supply, Air supply, water supply & related industrial standards

Functional:

• Study & Plan plant facility for automotive assembly operation
• Plan tooling, jigs, fixtures & machines required for automotive assembly production lines & test lines
• Work with OE supplier to develop required tooling, jigs/fixtures, machines for production lines
• Design & provide guidance to manufacture in house tooling, jigs/fixtures etc. for improvement of production process efficiency, error proofing etc.
• Plan & develop efficient layout, process flow along with Manufacturing Engineer and plan related facility required for production lines
• Plan & develo the utilities for electricity, air, water as per industrial standard and adequate capacity
• Plan the building, infrastructure required for prodcution facility as per industrial standards
• Coordinate with in-house tool room or external supplier for new manufacturing or modification of existing tooling, jigs/fixtures & facility
• Commission the tools, jigs/fixtures, machines etc. in coordination with supplier & Manufacturing Engineer.
• Commission the production utilities viz. electric supply, air supply, water supply etc. at production site
• Commission the utility source viz. Transformer, MDB, Compressors, water pumps etc.
• Plan & Establish maintenance processes for new production facility
• Estimate budgets and control the cost of tooling and facility develoment for new projects
• Modify and alter the existing facility to suit new requirements of operation
• Represent Tooling & Facility tasks for program management
• Manage project timelines and achieve related targets of making facility ready for production
• Troubleshoot critical issues related to tooling and facility during launch
• Work towards identifying & implementing simple yet modern tooling to achieve cost and efficiency targets

Financial:

• Estimate the Capex required for tools, jigs, fixtures, machines & facility for automobile production line setups
• Control the cost & meet the expesne targets set for Launch programe

Human Resources:

• Lead the Tooling & Facility team & establish their efficient coordination with 'Supply' and 'Customer' agencies.
• Develop team in order to their independent working for established systems and processes

Travel Requirements:

• Travel within country and overseas location both regionally and globally as per launch project requirment (Peak around 20%)

Interested candidates must possess the following:

• Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Preferably Certification in automotive assembly tooling development, industrial facility/infrastructure development etc.
• Min 6-8 years of Experience in Automotive production tooling and facility development
• Excellent knowledge of automotive assembly tooling, layout and facility industrial standards
• Knowledge of automotive assembly including test equipments/ machines and related facility
• Hands-on experience of designing and development of tools, jigs/fixtures for automotive assembly line
• Project and time management skills including coordination with large cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
