Job Description


  • Provide support in supplier development programs to improve capability and quality
  • Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supplier base
  • Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures for Receiving Inspection.
  • Material Review Board member – Disposition for non-conformance materials in IQC.
  • Generate Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR) as required and follow up with Suppliers for closure using 8D corrective actions format
  • Ensure supplier’s preventive and corrective actions are implemented and effective
  • Participate in the assessment and selection of Suppliers of key commodities
  • Support the development of purchased component/assembly requirements
  • Compile and evaluate supplier quality performance metrics and drive for improvement actions that can be implemented to improve supplier performance
  • Conduct periodic Supplier process and quality system audits
  • Work with product development teams to understand their specifications and make recommendations concerning plating technologies, reliability, degree of difficulty, etc.
  • Manage electroplating suppliers by setting specifications with product development teams, and specifying lot acceptance criteria
  • Audit plating suppliers to ensure process control through SPC
  • Apply scientific skills to work through development, production, or customer return issues, by developing test plans, coordinating their completion, and deriving data driven conclusions

Required Qualifications

  • BS or higher degree in engineering, material science, physics, or chemistry.
  • Experience with plating metals on different surfaces including metal alloys and ceramics using various technologies such as electroless or electrolytic plating.
  • Experience with failure analysis techniques and tools such as SEM/EDS, XRF, microscopy, cross-sectioning, etc.
  • Experience using Cpk for plating process control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of corrosion principles in plated surfaces
  • Ability to travel - 25%
