Purpose for Position:
Maximize sales & profit, and satisfied customers by ensuring we have the optimum clothing range in each store with the optimum space
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to adjust the mix of product in each store or group of store to maximize the return on space and sell-thru
- Identify how we can group stores together to receive the same range to make a simple plan for buying teams with reference to sales history, profit history, stock history, customer profile, commercial plan for new season product and store renovation plans.
- Ensure there is a clear process between Merchandise planning, Buying teams and stores with a simple and effective plan of how much product to buy and how to allocate to stores.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, Information System or other related fields
- Knowledge of programming and experience working with data. Working knowledge with SQL, MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, (SPSS Statistics, Python or R will be advantageous)
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts with strong SQL skills for querying
- Expert Excel user: able to understand and build complex spreadsheets
- Experience in merchandising, space planning role is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems Solid business sense
