  • About the role:

    • Executing strategy, methodology and direction for the professional services team.
    • Overseeing the completion of requirement definitions, functional specification, system and technical architecture definition and implementation.
    • Reviewing completed proposals for technical integrity, quantification of risk and strategic direction prior to presentation to customers.
    • Owning the resource planning, cross-company visibility, and profitability model for professional services.
    • Act as the customer escalation contact for project delivery and technical support issues by representing the company and client needs professionally while supporting and championing his/her staff.
    • Ensure that project deliverable and work products are harvested and placed within an internal knowledge management basis in a timely fashion.
    • Work within the company to ensure that all operational functions are aligned with company objectives and client needs.
    • Monitor and message internal expectations on key business metrics during project delivery such as support responsiveness, delivery of service, client satisfaction, and key system performance.
    • Ensure all project assigned staff, develop deep business and product expertise.
    • Ensure tight management, customer communications, and expectations set for customer deployment.
    • Define the appropriate project execution plan and budget, and then manage the project[s] accordingly. The business plan and budget must then be adaptable to ensure they are in line with the company’s evolving needs.
    • Play an active role in evolving the Professional Services solutions portfolio, such as to increase service revenues and profitability in line with financial targets.
    • Work in conjunction with members of the senior management team / GM Software to ensure best practice whilst balancing the company and client’s objectives.
    • Ensure resources are effectively utilised while on the project as defined by the current project business plan [EaFat].
    • Responsible for High-level communication with the customer with respect to projects or other matters.

    Candidate Characteristics / Candidate Profile

    The PS Project Manager will be a seasoned professional with 8+ years of professional services experience. The right candidate must be passionate about customer satisfaction but understand how to balance customer needs with the functions of a standardized software suite. The candidate must clearly be able to articulate client needs internally and represent the company professionally externally. They must have experience with creating a smooth and effective development and deployment of multiple concurrent and highly complex software projects for a diverse client base. This proven track record of growing the professional services backbone for a software/solutions company must have taken place in a dynamic and demanding market.

    Personally, the successful candidate must be confident, inspire teamwork and collaboration, and be seen as a good coach, mentor and advocate. This individual will possess the self-confidence and gravitas necessary to work comfortably with the senior levels of Diebold Nixdorf and client organizations. Competencies

    • Professional Services background eg PwC, E&Y, KPMG Accenture or expertise acquired via delivering projects in a Banking environment.
    • Experience in Banking Industry needed, preferably on ATM, payment and/or card/switching business
    • Preferably they have been certified PMP [PMI] or Prince 2
    • Must have an ingrained commitment to customer satisfaction.
    • Must have experience delivering and supporting software in the upper-mid to the enterprise market.
    • Must have the operational experience to include setting up SOW’s, rules of engagement, contracts and other infrastructure to the professional services team.
    • Must have the ability to manage complex projects within Banking environment or with consulting firm
    • Must have experience in supporting business development opportunities through proposal creation, review and presentation.
    • Must have experience in managing and coaching a PS Delivery team > 10 resources
    • Technical background on software development and the software architecture needed
    • Excellent knowledge of the SDLC
    • Familiarity with emerging technologies and applications in relation to business processes.
    • Experience in managing numbers, planning and achieving budget figures

    Specific Requirements and KPI’s Key Performance Indicators

    • Execute the projects such that utilization, margin, profitability and financial targets are achieved as well as ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on-time delivery.
    • Project Margin delivered or exceeded in line with an approved estimate
    • Support OE activities and resourcing targets to enhance profitable outcomes
    • Billable Portfolio Utilisation >70%
    • Client reference ability and satisfaction
    • All invoicing to be timely, accurate and not discounted as a result of inefficient project management
    • Process
    • Resourcing - Zero engagements without FSD & Scope of Work (SOW) /Terms of Reference
    • Project execution – All project issues and risks to be identified in advance and proactively managed to the benefit of PS and the customer, no project issues to be a ‘surprise’ to the PS management team.
    • Change Management Process used at all applicable times within project lifecycles to ensure realistic customer expectations and to avoid any negative exposure
    • All projects will adhere to standard process eg review gates, methodology, reporting
    • Recruit, Build and Retain People capability
    • Build or retail product competency profile
    • Skill matrix profile management will be deployed and completed,
    • Regular informal performance feedback with the project team will be managed
    • Zero People with missing objectives in Compass
    • Training forecast will be documented – Demand will be known
    • Improve Employee Satisfaction Feedback

    • Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel as required, greater than 50%
