Job Description

Senior Logistics Officer

Objectives of the position

Coordinate and support the activities of logistics transaction related to export and transportation for both of raw material and equipment delivery to facilitate regional and or production processes and other departments’ requirements within the company established policies and guidelines. Planning and coordinate the international shipment of product. Negotiate with a variety of people, such a shippers, agents and vendors, and excellent customer service skills in dealing with customers.

Main tasks & responsibilities

Shipment Coordination

  • Co-ordinate the relevant regional/local logistics personnel to communicate the forecast of the regional allocations of products and materials to ensure the availability of shipment.
  • Minimize shipment handling steps/ transshipments in distribution chains by reducing stocking locations for each shipment to centralized warehouses.
  • Co-ordinate with the supply companies in the region to review, control and reduce the product cycle time by analyzing the KPIs and provide recommendation in shipping, manufacturing, transportation handling, order processing, inventory storage, etc for both export and import activities.
  • Co-ordinate with regional and local purchasing and logistics personnel and production companies to define and review the information flow and data needed to effectively forecast the production planning to facilitate regional purchasing as well as inventory planning.
  • Initially forecast the regional allocations of products and materials to the relevant regional/local logistics personnel with the consolidated material and customer need forecasts from the relevant sales/supply personnel and production companies to ensure availability of shipment.
  • Consolidate the data on shipment performance such as shipment handling steps/ transshipments in distribution chains to support reducing stocking locations for each shipment to centralized warehouses.

Documentation and Report

  • Set up a filing system with proper indexing for all purchase transactions. Report and update raw material purchasing process that comply with procurement guideline
  • Handle all related document for the requisition of export license for all (Dangerous Goods) DG raw materials until receive permit from Government.

Safety, Quality and housekeeping

  • Develop, lead and monitor the relevant quality system, safety and environment protection procedures applied in the relevant operation areas.
  • Incorporate shop floor units and plant cleanliness among plant personnel to maintain a working environment that supports production and logistics activities.
  • Responsible for implementation of Transportation and Distribution Safety (TDS) requirements
  • Implement and maintain Safety and Responsible Care policy comply to all EHS rule, regulations

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chan Logistics or related field
  • 5 year of experiences in Import-Export and coordinating and routing shipment
  • Able to communicate in English in both verbal and written
  • Capable of communication with different cultures and background
  • Good leadership skill
  • Able to solve problem and make decision
  • Good negotiation skill
