Senior Network Engineer

As a member of our esteemed Technical Operations team, you will be helping to bring this vision to reality by leveraging the most modern hybrid cloud infrastructure technologies. At Ascend, you will be part of a team who are directly responsible for improving the lives of millions.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement and maintain hybrid network infrastructure (router, switch, firewall, load balancer) including software-defined networks.
• Design, implement and maintain Active-Active Datacenters
• Understand and be able to study and apply new technology to support business requirements.
• Monitor and optimize network performance for scalability, reliability and usability including provide network performance report and maintain network monitoring tool.
• Maintain and manage network inventory and manage backup by automation method.
• Coordinate with other infrastructure team to investigate problem those related to network.
• Coordinate with vendors and link providers to deliver output within SLA, and manage to resolve and identify the root cause of the problem, including providing preventive actions to minimize or eliminate risks.

Essential Skills & Prerequisites 

• A positive, can-do attitude, who naturally expresses a high degree of empathy to others.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in networking both Cisco and Non-Cisco product.
• Experience in operate firewall and load balancer.
• In-depth knowledge on network routing protocol (such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and other network technology.
• Knowledge on virtualization, automation, software-defined network architecture and cloud technology.
• Knowledge of QoS implementation for Cloud DirectConnect and Site-to-Site IPSec VPN
• Knowledge of OpenSouce monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Sensu, ELK)
• Strong scripting skills for managing devices over REST-APIs, such as Python, PowerShell
• Automation Tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, RunDeck, Python NAPALM, libcloud, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good command in writing and speaking English.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE holder is an advantage
