Senior Automation Engineer (PLC)
Location: Valeo CDA, Chonburi

 Responsibilities:

• A- Manage the technical team :
  Ensure that test resources are available on plan
  Responsible for technical development of each engineer (vision, electrical, software-PLC-)
  Help and guide engineers to reach expertise in their field
  B- Ensure production site equipment are up to the standards:
  Ensure standard are applied on the new equipments
  Plan current machine’s productivity improvement
  Closely work with Production Maintenance and Quality to define improvement roadmap
  Lead actively on standardization of the Factory Of the Future (eWS, MES)
  Support on creating standard RFQ document
  Define and follow traceability solution to adopt
  C- Participate to budgetary phase of a project :
  Lead discussion with R&D to understand and challenge equipment needs versus new products.
  Plan the budgetary quotation for the assembly lines on the automated part.
  Provide concepts based on the process standard existing at group level.

  D- Validate assembly line quotations from suppliers.
  Concept, choice of the hardware, feasibility/simplicity and cost.

  E- Participate to design reviews :
  1- Review mechanical proposals from suppliers, challenge the feasibility / simplicity / reliability together with the Process Project Team Member.
  2- Organize and lead software reviews. Understand and Challenge simplicity / efficiency / reliability of the software proposed.
  3- Evaluate, challenge and propose corrective actions to meet Valeo industrial requirements.

  F- Responsible for automation validation :
  1- pre-acceptance at supplier
  2- support validation of process parameters
  3- support traceability integration validation
  G- Support training to ensure smooth handover with maintenance’s production team.
  H- Support PE and PTM team in assembly line modifications in case of new part numbers.
  I- Capitalize and share the Lessons Learnt from each project.

Technical

• Strong understanding of industrial KPI (cycle time, efficiency, lean design)

A- Skilled in PLC program (Omron at least, Siemens is appreciated).

• Able to understand autonomously functions designed by the supplier and modify it.
• Automatic processes used :
• - screwing
• - grease
• - press fit
• - pick and place
• - camera detection / luminance detection, load cell for haptic testing, acoustic testing

B- Strong electronic background.

• Understand electrical diagramCapable of handling machine wiring and modifications (add cameras, sensors…)

C- Analytic skills - autonomous in troubleshooting

• Being able to analyse a problem, couple of product/process

 
Qualification

• Bachelor's degree Engineering of Engineering of Electrical, Electronic, Computer/Programming 
• At least 3 years experience in Automation Engineer
• Good command of written and spoken in English language is must requested (Chinese is a plus)
