Job Description

Our client is a leading manufacturer of breeds and produces high-quality vegetable seeds for tropical conditions.

Job Descriptions:
  • Developing an organized and systematic market and customer research process and taking the lead in collecting data regarding new and emerging needs, trends, practices and issues related to our crops from multiple sources of information.
  • Conducting regular competitive intelligence regarding competitors (both existing and potential new entrants), competitive products/activities and competitor capabilities (their strengths/weaknesses).
  • Leading in implementing and monitoring the country crop project master plan.
  • Monitoring the product development process and keeps track of the agreed timelines.
  • Gathering and handling the assemble key information from each stage and discuss the results with the GM, S&M Manager, Sales, Crop Managers, CBM/Breeders, RYT Manager, PDS Manager as part of the gate review process before advancing the product development to the next stage. Ensures that all identified issues in each stage are promptly resolved.
  • Keeping the team abreast of significant market updates so that adjustments in the plan are made accordingly.
  • Being responsible for new product launching planning, market introduction activities and summarizing the results for sharing with Crop Managers, CBM/Breeders, GM, S&M Manager, Sales Manager and BDT prior to actual formal product launch in the country.
  • Creating a comprehensive and well-thought-out marketing strategy for product lines by defining the value and target positioning of each product. Develops the marketing communication materials/tools that highlight the differentiating features, advantages and benefits (FAB) of our products versus competition.
  • Training the team on our product knowledge and how to use these marketing tools to support value-based selling propositions to customers.
  • Developing sales and product promotion plans and works with in-house partners from Group Communication/Studio or external vendors in executing activities and/or producing the promotion materials.
  • Exploring and optimizing the use of different marketing platforms in promoting products that are proven effective for our target customers.
  • Gathering customer and market feedback by regularly participating in field visits, market visits, sales events and interacting with farmers, traders, distributors, seed shop, owners, sellers, brokers, consumers and employees from Sales and R&D.
  • Being accountable for maintaining the financial health and competitive position of the product lines. Works closely with Finance and Sales in monitoring KPIs and reviewing the performance of product lines so that course-corrective actions are taken proactively.
  • Conducting price analysis with Finance and Sales to maximize the profitability of product lines. Monitors competitors’ pricing to guide the pricing strategy.
  • Performing other duties or specific projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience as a Product Manager from OTC / Pharmaceutical / Consumer Products from Agriculture / FMCG
  • Expertise in product portfolio and product life cycle, etc.
  • Good command of English.
