Our respected client is seeking a highly motivated professional with at least 5 years’ experience in category product management and sourcing for the job of Procurement Manager. The job is based in Bangkok, Thailand. The winning candidate must have a proven track record of sales and marketing success.
Job Summary
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for product sourcing and procurement responsibilities for stationaries and office supplies category. The objective is to drive aggressive growth in business operations and sales volume from modern trade channels.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a category product manager to develop, lead and execute product management and purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Negotiate and close deals with optimal terms
- Support the business through the identification of externally sourced goods and services covering the range of the categories.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Analyse categories of spending to determine potential opportunities regarding cost optimisation
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries. Cooperate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure continuity of supply
- Monitor changes in legal requirement for import, storage and transportation
- Monitor performance and service levels of suppliers Managing staff
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in category management, product development, merchandising, sourcing, and procurement field.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related area
- Proven negotiator and influencer with the ability to build a professional relationship and trust at all levels of the business and the company
- Good experience with undertaking strategic sourcing projects across indirect categories
- Purchasing experience in retail a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
- Prior management experience from multinational companies
- Electronic, Equipment, Stationaries, or FMCG industry experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in Thai and English.
