Job Description

Purpose:

Responsible to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the organization.It will install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware / software faults and solve Technical problems, either over the phone or face-to-face. Establishes and maintains network Performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems.

Business Accountabilities:

  • Abide by all occupational health and safety requirements of Lumen ensuring all systems & Procedures relating to SAFETY are adhered to.
  • General duties as directed by warehouse supervisor.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Install and configure computer systems, printers, scanner, telephones, mail client;
  • Diagnosing and trouble-shooting system and network problems, hardware or software faults;
  • Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
  • Monitoring and maintaining of network and software components and implement support (from HQ in Australia) when necessary for more complex matters.
  • Maintain and update hardware components (switches, firewall, laptops, printers, scanners, IP-phones, IP-cameras, routers, access terminals, alarm system components, LAN cable/sockets).
  • Set-up of the work environment for new joining local users, administration and maintenance Of user accounts and user rights in cooperation support (HQ in Australia).
  • Error acceptance, first error analysis, documentation and reporting, which may be in person or Over the phone, email and remote.
  • Implement local expansions in the IT infrastructure.
  • Main contact person for local employee with regard to all technical inquiries and IT problem And answering their questions
  • Trains and instructs user on the user of computerized equipment and system and other Communications devices so that the users can effectively perform their jobs.
  • Communicates with supervisor and management to obtain the needs for technological solution
  • That would enable the users to meet regulatory requirements or to enable more effective use Of their present technology.
  • Provides inventory services for all technology and related items.
  • Document solutions to problems regarding standard IT applications and record them in the IT Knowledge Base.
  • Develops, disseminates and enforces policies on technology and communication devices.
  • Ensures that the appropriate file backup procedures on computer system are being Performed and the backup date is securely safeguarded.

Qualifications and Key Skill Sets:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in IT support and with a background in computer networking and Hardware, information technology or similar in  a similar role, position and in an international
  • Excellent knowledge of computer networks, administration, installation.
  • Take responsible ownership of helpdesk tickets allocated to you and escalate if necessary.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN and wireless
  • Experienced with Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10, Mac OS X, MS. Outlook and Office 365 including SharePoint and Onedrive
  • Strong attention to details, trouble-shooting, Service-minded, problem-solving skills, Good Attitude, can work under pressure.
  • Basic concept of file server knowledge, share folders
  • Good command of written and spoken English is a MUST
