Monroe Consulting Group Thailand is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, global insurance company in Thailand. Our client is one of the most resp International Insurance company's in Thailand, and one of the world's leading insurance operators.

Job Summary

The IFRS 17 Manager will mainly be responsible in leading the accounting team in driving IFRS implementation projects by co-working with project leads and project members. This will involve adhering to local financial reporting standards, ensuring the highest quality of financial information.

Job responsibilities

  • Managing the overall IFRS implementation, including implementation of local accounting standards
  • Accounting activities, including the monthly/annual financial close processes'
  • Review accuracy of accounting transactions to ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policy, OIC’s regulation, and the Thai Accounting Standard
  • Review the existing accounting practice to be complied with financial reporting standards
  • Responsible for continuing to support the growth of the company with business process improvements, and compliance with critical internal control and financial reporting standards
  • Perform the IFRS 17 User Acceptance Test (UAT) before promotion into production

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in Accounting, preferably in an insurance business
  • Experience in a multi-national company environment
  • Extensive IFRS experience; having an understanding of IFRS, and an appreciation for the risk in the financial application and reporting implications of IFRS
  • Experience in IFRS 17 implementation would be a plus
  • Able to identify IFRS problem areas in a set of financial statements/fact patterns, and recommend solutions
  • Excellent analytical and communicational skills
  • Working in groups with a focus on developing team members in the process
  • Ability to research issues at a detailed level and having enthusiasm for tackling complex issues
  • Possess an flexible, open-minded, proactive and decisive business acumen
  • Strong communication skills assisting discussions within the team as well as with an external auditor
  • Experience in working with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point
