Responsible for establishing and maintaining an approachable rapport with dormitory students and providing and maintaining a framework of regulations and organized procedures within which
the dormitory students’ safety and well-being is assured and they will live in an environment conducive to the fulfillment of those educational objectives for which King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Latkrabang Demonstration School (KMIDS) exists.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and secure living environment in the dormitory so that residents’ safety and well-being are ensured.
- Ensure that the dormitory meets the needs of the residents so they can focus their attention on their educational program and requirements by:
- a. Organizing and enforcing dormitory system and procedures that cater to the residents’ needs (i.e. checking meals and laundry service or taking students to hospital)
- b. Maintaining discipline and order at the dormitory through the implementation of policies and rules using positive discipline
- c. Developing a positive and respectful relationship with the residents and be a positive role model
- d. Monitoring housekeeping and maintenance to ensure the dormitory’s maximum functionality
- e. Maintaining cleanliness and order of the dormitory
- Plan and facilitate engaging dormitory activities that teach residents life skills.
- Monitor and support dormitory residents’ academic progress
- Assist Dormitory Supervisor in:
- a. Coordinating with teachers and parents to support residents
- b. Accompanying residents to school in the morning and back to the dormitory in the afternoon
- c. Maintaining a record of residents going out of the dormitory or going back home
- Plan and facilitate engaging dormitory activities that teach residents life skills.
- Monitor and support dormitory residents’ academic progress
- Assist Dormitory Supervisor in:
- a. Coordinating with teachers and parents to support residents
- b. Accompanying residents to school in the morning and back to the dormitory in the afternoon
- c. Maintaining a record of residents going out of the dormitory or going back home
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with colleagues, residents, school teachers and staff, and administrators.
- Exercise decisive leadership in crisis situations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Administrator
Qualifications:
- Thai Male at least 27 years old
- At least 2-year work experience with teenagers (13 – 19 years old)
- Dormitory or boarding school experience is not necessary but a plus.
- Considerable understanding of teenagers’ development and needs.
- Proficient in written and verbal English
- Willing to work on weekends
- TOEIC Score of at least 600
- Compassionate, caring, empathetic and enjoys working with teenagers
- Responsible, willing to learn, and take initiative to assist residents and improve the dormitory
- Flexible with working schedule
- Team-player but can work individually
- Able to work effectively under minimal supervision
- Able to commit to at least 1 year contract
