Job Description

Job Function/Purpose

              The Costing Engineer position calculates the estimated manufacturing product cost and coordinate with the procurement team on target cost, aiming to reduce FOB prices.

Bullet Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Provides bill of materials details and usage requirements (fabrics, trims, accessories, attribution) in collaboration with Raw Material development team and Procurement.

  • Provides bill of labor for sewing/cutting/molding/die cut based on construction details, red sealed sample, GSD (General Sewing Data), Pattern, Average sizes, JSS (Job Standard Spec)-cutting.

  • Calculates the FOB or Full landed cost Product cost ( Follow Intimates and Basic costing sheet template and guideline on the composite cost/ assumption of waste allowance and IRR/Throw out rate)

  • Does the analysis to see the cost is within the target and proposes ideas to reduce cost like SAH reduction, marker utilization, minimum wage, usage of Trim, Freight cost…

  • Works with Finance team in HEI and US, HAA, Japan on the estimation cost and Keys them in to PLM for US and Jedox for HAA

  • Works with Plant Finance on the FOB shown in CVS

  • Annually updates the Assumption of STD, Cost rate with Corporate and Regional Finance

  • Provides the cost estimation in accurate and in time

 Experience/Skills/Education Requirements

  • Minimum Education required: Industrail Enginerring, BS/BA degree in an apparel and/or textile/ garment related field, preferably in garment design. In lieu of degree – 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.

Skill Requirements

     .  Working knowledge in pattern marking, grading and garment constructions of garment

  • Knowledge of fabrics and trims and their performance in garment form.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time while maintaining adherence to calendar.

  • Clear, concise and standardized communication in both written and verbal form.

  • Problem solving skills analytical

  • PC Skills - Microsoft Office

  • GSD certification preferred.

  • English Skill: Good at verbal and Written
