Job Description

Overall job purpose:

To be part of a small to medium sized team performing systems support analysis to support the running of production systems, ensuring Service Level Agreements and Key Performance are met.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to the DST Security Policy.
  • Overnight batch support, monitor and resolve issues, estimation on job completion for IT Ops escalation and BA on call.
  • Fully understand Overnight batch escalation procedures for system availability, both generic and specific for client feeds/reporting.
  • Under daily supervision of the Support Manager, analyse the production issues and provide updates.
  • Using the logical pathway analyse issues and fill in the analysis section on a daily basis.
  • Ensure adherence to department procedures especially regarding work allocation and progress reporting.
  • Specify changes so that they comply with the application architecture, standards and conventions.
  • Seek to improve quality and processes through constructive feedback.
  • Be flexible to changing needs and the ability to multi task.
  • In case of a 1st priority (P1) assignment, take the P1 as the top most priority and provide the support manager with regular updates.
  • Assist in specification of overall change deployment, to ensure completeness of solution delivery within the DST Release Process.
  • Provide regular status reports and participate in group analysis sessions and team meetings.
  • Participate in out of hours / weekend support, where necessary.
  • Complete any other appropriate ad hoc tasks as directed by your manager.
  • Work well within the team framework.
  • Ability to mentor newer team members and to assist them in coming up to speed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information System or related field.
  • Flexible approach to working Thai and UK bank holidays.
  • A minimum of two years in a support role is preferred.
  • Proven track record in problem solving.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Proven track record of working on large complex systems.
  • Good communication skills to all levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience of AS400, COBOL and SQL is essential.
  • Experience of client / server systems.
  • Experience in working with formal methodologies.
